SPICE VESSEL

This Luxe Pottery decorative vessel draws inspiration from the ancient Roman practice of carrying small pottery containers used to store spices, oils, and perfumes. The design merges classical influence with modern sophistication.

The vase undergoes a Western-style Raku firing process. At a precise moment, the artisan removes the piece from the kiln at intense heat and places it into containers filled with combustible materials.

During this process, strands of horsehair are applied to the heated surface, creating distinctive black patterns that form the vessel’s unique decorative features.
