RUSTIC ITALIAN

The rustic vase has small handles is reminiscent of Italian water jars and wine jugs from regions like Tuscany. The vase jug has an aged, imperfect glaze with streak of dark golden brown and variations in color, ranging from deep ocher yellows to lighter shades.

This crackle glaze effect was common in traditional Italian maiolica and terracotta pottery. The dripping glaze was intentional to mimic the overflowing olive oil.

This vase was commissioned by a private client.
