RAKU-YAKI VASE

This Japanese-inspired yellow Raku pottery vase exudes modern sophistication and luxury. This Luxe Pottery piece is remarkably delicate—“as light as a feather”—yet extremely difficult to create.

The black patterning is produced by placing actual horsehair onto the vase while it is under intense heat. This technique creates a distinctive design effect, making the patterns appear as though they are lifted from the surface.

The vase features a voluminous, rounded body that tapers into a narrow neck with a slightly flared rim. Its form is reminiscent of a gourd or large droplet, with a full, asymmetrical belly that conveys a sense of organic movement.

A striking two-tone coloration defines the piece: one side displays a warm golden yellow that gradually transitions into a pale, creamy white on the other.

This Luxe Pottery piece is currently part of the Artist's private collection.
